A blend of drama, romantic comedy, and science fiction, directed by Michel Gondry and written by Charlie Kaufman. Joel Barish (played by Jim Carrey) and Clementine Kruczynski (played by Kate Winslet) meet by chance on a beach. They quickly form a deep relationship, full of intense emotions, personality differences, and inevitable conflicts. After some time, their relationship begins to fall apart. Clementine, discouraged by pain and disappointment, decides to use a memory-erasing service offered by the Lacuna Inc. clinic. When Joel discovers that his beloved has erased all memories of their relationship, he feels betrayed and, in an act of desperation, decides to undergo the same procedure himself.
