DESCRIPTION:
A 1981 historical drama directed by Hugh Hudson, based on the true story of two British athletes preparing for the 1924 Summer Olympics in Paris. The film won four Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Original Score composed by Vangelis.
The film tells the story of the rivalry between two runners: Harold Abrahams (Ben Cross), an English Jew seeking to overcome social prejudice, and Eric Liddell (Ian Charleson), a Scottish Christian who views running as a form of glorifying God. Both athletes strive for the Olympic gold medal while facing personal challenges and cultural differences.
